Amazon Dot - In White or Black

The voice controlled Amazon Dot is amazing, fun, and even entertaining! For people who do not understand what the Amazon Dot is or does, I like to say, “You don’t get it…until you get it”. If you buy the Amazon Dot and start using it, you can’t understand how you lived without one. Yes, it’s that awesome.

The AmazonDot is just easy to recommend for using or managing a smart house as a voice-controlled individual assistant. It can still be connected to a larger speaker by means of Bluetooth or a 3.5 mm cable television for much better quality audio, and it still has seven far-field microphones to pick up your voice. When it’s listening for a command or processing a request, it even has the brightened ring that shines blue to let you know.

That changed last month, however, when Amazon introduced a brand-new variation of the Dot. And to provide credence to the idea that Amazon wants you to put one of these little pucks in every room of your house, the business is offering multi-packs of the Dot, which let you buy six or 12 of the gadgets at  a discount.

Before the change in pricing strategy by Amazon, the only way to purchase a Dot was through an existing Amazon Echo when it was introduced in March of this year.  Thankfully, Amazon now let’s you buy the Amazon Dot as a standalone product. Yeah!

The Dot  doesn’t have the room-filling sound of the larger Echo, however it still has all of the very same smarts: you might use it to set timers, perform system conversions, order a pizza, call an Uber, or respond to random trivia, all hands-free. I found it finest for managing smart house technology devices– it’s far easier to use your voice to turn smart lights on than to dig out your phone and load up an app.

The price on the Amazon Dot is truly an amazing value. I suspect that this will be this year’s top Christmas gift. I bet it’s on everyone’s list!
